Metal jacketed gaskets consist of a metal cover with a soft material insert. Metal Jacketed Gaskets have of a metallic outer shell with softer compressible filler materials.
The metal sheet coating should be as soft and flexible as possible, but to prevent corrosion it is often made from a stainless steel jacket.
Metal jacket gaskets can stand up to 30 percent deviation from their initial thickness, which is very useful for irregular or damaged flange rims. It is worth considering the chemical compatibility of the metal and the sealed medium.

Metal jacketed gaskets can be produced in different shapes with or without bars
Gaskets are jacketed with one thin metal (usually 0.4/0.5 mm thick metal sheet) to inner soft filler.
Nominal gaskets thickness may be of 3/3.2 mm.
The filler material is completely enclosed by a 2 piece metal jacket which covers both the inside and outside diameters and both contact surfaces
It is exactly as similar as Double Jacket gaskets in addition, it consists of partition bars also called pass bars or RIBS. These RIBS can be manufactured with either integral or welded pass.
These types of gaskets are fitted with inner& outer ring. Inner rings provide additional compression limiting stop and provides heat and corrosion barrier protecting gasket windings.

A metal ring, grooved and subsequently coated with a layer of softer material which guarantees the seal, particularly suitable with hard operating condition, Concentric ‘V’ Grooves on the flat metal.
Pitch of the Groove normally 1 to 1.5mm, groove depth will be 0.4 to 0.7mm.
It’s required Top of the ‘V’ Groove 0.1 to 0.2mm flat will give required to seal.
Grooved metal Gaskets are sealing occurred by metal to metal contact.
These Gaskets are normally much softer than flange material. The surface finish of the flange material are lesser than 63 micro inches.
Excellent choice for 150# and 300# ASME flanges where available bolt loading is minimal.
These Gaskets required high seating stress.
These Gaskets required more bolt load than any other Gaskets.
Every Groove will acts as separate seal.

A solid metal gasket with an oval cross-sectional shape made of metal materials by forging, heat treatment and machining. It has a radial self-tightening sealing effect and is a standard R-type metal ring gasket.
It has great mechanical strength or heat resistivity.
The hardness of the ring should always be less than the hardness of the flanges to prevent flange deformation.
Standard size gaskets are manufactured in accordance to API 6A, API 17D and ASME B16.5 / B 16.20 specifications.
